Federal Fire Service debunks viral update on recruitment

•Federal Fire Service

The Federal Fire Service (FFS) today debunked a new update about its recruitment portal for suitably qualified candidates to be recruited to fill existing vacancies in different positions, saying it is fake.

FFS in a newspaper advertorial had said applications must be submitted online within six (6) weeks from Wednesday, 27 December, 2023.

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) added that there are two categories, inspectorate cadre and assistant cadre for interested and qualified applicants.

However, a new update about its recruitment portal recently emerged but FFS has issued a statement on its X handle, telling applicants to beware of such because it is fake.

“Applicants for the Federal Fire Service recruitment who applied for the position of Assistant Superintendent of Fire (CONPASS 08) are hereby informed that all applications submitted remain valid despite the early removal of the option for further applications on the portal,” the fake update read.

“Multiple applications by candidates remain frowned at and the CDCFIB retains its policy of cancellation of such while the candidates could miss such considerations.

“The only application announced is the cdcfib.career portal and application remains entirely free. Further inquiries and concerns can be submitted to CDCFIB Superintendents.”

FFS urged the public to disregard the purpoted update signed by spokesperson, SF Ugo Huan on behalf of the Controller General, Federal Fire Service.
