•Late Brigadier General Lawal Bature Mohammed (rtd)

Brigadier General Lawal Bature Mohammed (rtd), former Commander of Zamfara Community Protection Guards (CPG), is dead.

Popularly known as Dan Gusau, the late Brigadier General suffered Bandits bullet wounds during an attack by bandits last year, reports Daily Trust.

He was later flown to Egypt for medical attention.

While recuperating, former AIG Muhammad Shehu Daligent (rtd) was named the new commander.

Recently, Governor Dauda Lawal decorated relations of the fallen CPG heroes and promised to fully support their families.

A statement by the governor’s spokesperson, Sulaiman Bala Idris, revealed that, Governor Dauda Lawal decorated 20 Community Protection Guards (CPGs) at that time, who performed extraordinarily well in discharging their duties.

The funeral prayer of the late CPG Commander was observed in the sabon gari area of Gusau, the state capital, yesterday evening.

He was buried according to Islamic rites.
