•Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa State

Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri, has approved the constitution of a state government delegation to oversee the 2026 Christian pilgrimage to the Holy Land in Israel.

A statement issued today by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Humwashi Wonosikou, said the delegation would be chaired by the Gubo Yungur.

Other members of the delegation are Senator Rev. Amos Yohanna, Japhet Hammajabu, Mr. Samuel Chinda, Rev. Father Anselm Kachalla, while Dr. Bartholomew Nyalas will serve as secretary.

Congratulating the committee members on their appointment, governor Fintiri urged them to uphold the highest standards of integrity, discipline, and patriotism in carrying out their responsibilities.

“You have been chosen to represent the government and the good people of Adamawa State. This is both an honour and a responsibility. I urge you to be good ambassadors of our dear state. Conduct yourselves with dignity and ensure the pilgrimage is hitch-free and purposeful,” the governor said.

He also directed the delegation to work closely with the Nigeria Christian Pilgrim Commission and other relevant authorities to ensure the safety and welfare of all pilgrims from Adamawa State.

The governor further called on the committee members to justify the confidence reposed in them by remaining transparent, accountable, and focused on the spiritual objectives of the pilgrimage.

Governor Fintiri reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to supporting religious activities that promote peace, unity, and moral values across the state.
