A 20-year-old man, Abubakar Adudu is now in police custody for stabbing a 30-year-old woman to death after stealing some quantity of maize in her house.
A statement by Adamawa State Police Command Public Relations Officer stated that the suspect was arrested after a complaint was reported by the husband of late woman.
The statement by the PPRO, SP Suleiman Nguroje, today, explained that the accused was arrested on November 10, 2024.
The police spokesperson added that the suspect who hails from Gengle village in Mayo Belwa LGA, stabbed his victim, Azumi Abubakar, to death after she recognised him.
“The suspect had on 7th November, 2024 at about 0300hrs broke into the house of the victim and stole some quantity of maize. In an attempt to escape, the victim identified and called his name.
“Upon realising that he was sighted and identified, he immediately attacked the victim by stabbing her with a knife as a result of which she died,” SP Nguroje said.
He said the suspect would be charged to court as soon as the investigation is completed.
