History was made today at the ancient Mapo Hall in Ibadan as Governor Seyi Makinde officially presented the staff and instruments of office to former Governor of Oyo State, Oba Rashidi Adewolu Ladoja, Arusa I, as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.

The installation of Oba Ladoja’s installation and coronation held at the historic Mapo Hall, Ibadan, reports Daily Independent.

The epoch-making coronation ceremony, attended by dignitaries from across Nigeria and beyond, had President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in attendance.

Speaking while presenting the staff of office, Governor Makinde described Oba Ladoja’s ascension as “a fulfillment of destiny and a continuation of Ibadan’s proud cultural heritage.”

He noted that the installation of the new monarch was not just a traditional exercise but also a unifying moment for the people of Ibadanland.
