How motorists can renew expired tinted glass permits online – Police

Motorists across Nigeria can now renew expired tinted glass permits online through the Police Specialised Services Automation Project portal, the Nigeria Police Force’s official platform.

According to an official announcement by POSSAP on X today, vehicle owners are advised to complete the renewal process before their permits expire to avoid inconvenience during traffic checks.

To renew a tint permit, applicants are required to visit the official website, https://possap.gov.ng, and log in to their existing accounts.

After logging in, users should click on the ‘Profile’ icon located at the top-right corner of the page, select ‘Service Request,’ and then choose ‘Renewals.’

The system will display all expired permits linked to the account. Applicants can then locate the relevant permit, click on ‘Actions,’ and select ‘Renew Permit’ to proceed.

For verification, two options are available. Those who prefer physical inspection can choose the SIB/FIB option and select their state and police command.

Alternatively, applicants may opt for virtual verification by selecting ‘Verify Documents Online,’ choosing their state and police command, and clicking ‘Continue to VVS’ to validate the vehicle’s VIN.

Once verification is completed, users are required to click ‘Generate Invoice & Continue’ and make the necessary payment. After successful payment, the renewal request will be processed and approved by the relevant authorities.

POSSAP urged members of the public to use only the official portal and to contact the support team for further assistance via email at info@possap.gov.ng or by calling 02018884040.

The Nigeria Police Force continues to encourage digital compliance as part of efforts to streamline specialised services and enhance public convenience.
