How socialite Aisha Achimugu shut down Grenada, Abuja for 50th birthday

A businesswoman and socialite, Aisha Achimugu, has continued to attract a huge buzz online and offline as a result of the lavish seven-day birthday party she threw to mark her golden jubilee at Calivigny Island and Silversands in Grenada; as well as in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

The birthday celebration of the socialite, who turned 50 on January 22, 2024, held from January 16 to 23, 2024 in Grenada, reports The PUNCH.

Achimugu’s seven-day carnival-like party on Calivigny Island saw her and her guests explore different locations and activities at the swanky resort.

Calivigny Island is a private island located off the coast of Grenada in the Caribbean. It is a luxurious resort that offers accommodation in several villas and suites, each with its own private beach. The island also has a spa, gym, tennis court, swimming pool, and a range of water sporting activities.

The first day of the celebration was dedicated to guests’ arrival. The next day, guests were treated to a welcome breakfast followed by a spectacular dinner in the evening.

For the third day, guests swam and engaged in kayaking. There were also performances by a contortionist and different acrobatic displays, after which a party held till dawn.

For the fourth day, the venue was at Silversands. There was a unique breakfast experience, with the dress code being African prints. Activities on the fourth day included dancing, drumming and special performances. This was rounded off with a fire night and yet another party which lasted till dawn.

On the fifth day, still at Silversand, a local band serenaded guests with soulful music, after which they were treated to some cocktails, followed by a retro disco and another party till dawn.

For day six, the birthday girl and her guests returned to Calivigny, where they engaged in a series of relaxing activities, including an excursion round the island.

The island party was rounded off on the seventh day with a generous breakfast, and a dinner party later in the evening.

Artistes who performed at the events included Chinedu Okoli, aka Flavour; Adekunle Gold, Aituaje Iruobe, aka Waje; and Ahmed Ololade, aka Asake.

However, just when everyone thought the party was over, it appeared that Achimugu was still in the party mood.

She hosted the tenth charity ball for her non-governmental organisation, SAM Empowerment Foundation, at the prestigious Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja on Friday, January 26, 2024. At that event, she urged women to always support their fellow women.

Though many did not know about Achimugu prior to her lavish 50thh birthday party, Society Plus gathered that she is the Managing Director of Felek Concept Group.

She was married to Sulaiman Achimugu, a former Managing Director of the Pipelines and Products Marketing Company Limited, with whom she had three children. Sadly, Sulaiman passed on in 2020 from COVID-19 complications.
