I don’t know when next to see Nnamdi Kanu – Lawyer Ejimakor cries out

The FrontierThe FrontierSeptember 27, 2024 2781 Minutes read0

•Ejimakor and Nnamdi Kanu

Mr Aloy Ejimakor, Special Counsel to the detained Leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, has lamented that he does not know when next he would be allowed to have access to his client currently incarcerated at the Abuja headquarters of the Department of State Services, DSS.

Ejimakor made the lamentation this evening after an attempt by Kanu’s legal team to visit him was allegedly rebuffed by DSS operatives, reports Vanguard.

This is coming barely 24 hours after Justice Binta Nyako of Abuja High Court presiding over Kanu’s trial since July 2021 when he was extraordinarily renditioned from Kenya, recused herself from the trial.

Kanu’s lead lawyer in a statement on behalf of the entire legal team, accused the secret police of violating subsisting Court orders concerning the IPOB Leader.

The statement made available to our correspondent read in full: “Today, in violation of subsisting court orders & the Constitution, the DSS blocked the Legal Team of MAZI NNAMDI KANU from meeting with him at the detention facility.

“It appears that the DSS has cancelled all future visitations to #MNK as a retaliation against #MNK “for chasing away Justice Binta Nyako from the case & causing her embarrassment”

“What this means is that the DSS, acting on behalf of the Federal Government of Nigeria, has unlawfully isolated #MNK from his Lawyers, thus making his solitary confinement absolute.

“I don’t know when next, if ever, it may be possible to see #MNK again.”
