BREAKING: JAMB Registrar Oloyede bows out, Aina steps in

The FrontierThe FrontierJuly 31, 2026 500 Minutes read0

•Segun Aina and Ishaq Oloyede

Professor Ishaq Oloyede has bowed out as Registrar and Chief Executive of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board(JAMB), paving the way for Professor Segun Aina to step in.

Recall that President Bola Tinubu had announced the appointment of Prof. Aina as JAMB Registrar on May 21, 2026, reports Daily Independent.

At 39, he goes down in history as the youngest chief executive officer to be appointed to head the agency that conducts entry-level examinations into tertiary institutions in Nigeria.

A Professor of Computer Engineering at Obafemi Awolowo University, Aina holds degrees from the University of Kent and Loughborough University.

He officially took over the leadership of JAMB today, where he pledged to protect the integrity of the organisation.

He warned organisations and individuals who aid and abet examination malpractices that it would not be business as usual.

Prof. Aina also stated that he would run an all-inclusive administration, consolidating on the gains achieved by his predecessor.

Oloyede, whose tenure has expired today, July 31, led the organisation for ten years.
