Following his stellar performances in workers welfare and capacity building, Akwa Ibom State Governor, His Excellency, Pastor Umo Eno, is set to be honoured by the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria (TUC).
This was contained in a letter conveying the warm wishes of the President of the Congress, Comrade (Engr) Festus Osifo, and made public by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Mr. Ekerete Udoh.
The letter from TUC reads, “Your Excellency was selected after a thorough and rigorous scrutiny of your administration’s labour-friendly track record, particularly your dedication to workers’ welfare, industrial harmony, timely payment of salaries and pensions, and inclusive social dialogue.
“This nomination reflects the collective appreciation of the Nigerian workforce for your visionary leadership and consistent prioritisation of decent work principles”, the letter concluded.
Governor Eno had in the last couple of months won awards from several reputable organisations, including This Day Newspaper, Leadership Newspaper and New Telegraph, as Governor of the Year.
