Inter Milan agree personal terms with Lookman

•Ademola Lookman

Super Eagles attacker, Ademola Lookman, appears to be heading to Inter Milan following the latest reports from Italy.

The Atalanta superstar has agreed personal terms with the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League finalists, adding that the Serie A runners-up have started negotiations with the 2023/24 Europa Cup champions, reports Sky Sport.

Inter Milan, which defeated FC Barcelona over two legs to qualify for last season’s UEFA Champions League final, has been rebuilding their squad following a recent decline in their performance.

The team lost 0-4 to PSG in the UEFA Champions League final and lost 0-2 to Brazil’s Fluminense in the round of 16 at the FIFA Club World Cup.

Under new coach, Christian Chivu, Inter Milan look to rebound in the 2005/26 after losing their Serie A crown to Napoli.

Despite Atalanta’s €50 million asking price, the Cristian men are confident that they can sign Lookman on more favorable terms. Indeed, the Nerazzurri believe that they could get the deal over the line with an offer in the region of €40m.

Furthermore, that figure wouldn’t require additional sales. Moreover, Inter have already accelerated talks with the player’s camp, laying the groundwork for the transfer.

However, convincing Atalanta to give up their standout performer could be the tricky part. Lookman’s seal of approval puts the Nerazzurri in a strong bargaining position, but it may not be enough. Indeed, they’d still need Atalanta’s goodwill.

Inter also have Lois Openda, Nicolas Gonzalez, Jadon Sancho, and Christopher Nkunku on their radar. But Lookman is the dream signing.
