•Tinubu and IGP Egbetokun

The Federal Government of Nigeria under the administration of President Bola Tinubu has declared April 7 as National Police Day.

This was disclosed by Vice President Shettima last night in Abuja during the maiden award and commendations event Organised by the Nigeria Police Force.

Shettima delivering the President’s speech titled, “Courage Under Fire: A Bouquet for Our Police Force,” emphasised that despite Nigeria facing immense security challenges, the resilience of its citizens stems from the unwavering dedication of the police force, reports Nigerian Tribune.

He underscored his administration’s firm commitment to modernise and professionalise the Nigeria Police Force, aligning it with the nation’s values and aspirations.

Among the extensive reforms implemented are investments in training and capacity-building, aimed at equipping officers with the necessary skills and expertise to tackle contemporary policing challenges effectively.

Shettima also pledged government support in upgrading equipment and technology to bolster the operational efficiency and effectiveness of the force.
