Kogi Central Senatorial District was agog today as residents of the district thronged out in their numbers, to welcome the former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello in the company of the current governor of the state, Usman Ododo as they entered the district to celebrate the New Year with his kinsmen.

Indegenes were already waiting beside the road from all angles in Okene as early as 8 am, to catch a glimpse of the former governor.

Women, men, old and young waved and sang in their local dialect to welcome the former governor, after he met his bail condition.

The triumphant entry of the former governor from Lokoja to Okene his country home, took him several hours before he could get to the palace of Ohinoyi of Ebiraland who was waiting with a multitude of people both men and women to receive him in the palace.

Addressing the people in his local dialect at the palace of the paramount ruler of Ebiraland in Okene, the former governor called on the people to always pray for their leaders to succeed in the discharge of their responsibilities.

He assured that the current administration led by Ododo will deliver more dividends of democracy to all parts of the state.

He called for unity among the diverse ethnic groups in the state to enable the current administration of Ododo to deliver the desired dividend of democracy to the people of the state.

He asked his people to shun all social vices and pray fervently for the administration of President Tinubu to succeed.

He also sought the support and prayers of Nigerians for Tinubu to succeed in executing his laudable plans and programmes for the country, noting that the policies of the current administration will definitely move the country forward.
