The FrontierThe FrontierMay 25, 2026 900 Minutes read0

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected its immediate past President of the Senate, Akinteye Babatunde Afeez, as the new president of the association.

Afeez secured victory at the NANS convention held in Abuja after polling 349 votes to defeat his closest rival, Aminu Haruna Maipanpo, who garnered 12 votes, while Odumosu Olumide received 10 votes, reports The Guardian.

In his acceptance speech following his declaration as winner, he pledged to provide inclusive and responsive leadership for the student body and vowed to work diligently to safeguard the rights and welfare of Nigerian students wherever they study.
