The FrontierThe FrontierMarch 20, 2025 2530 Minutes read0

•Gridlock in Lagos

Commuters going out of Lagos, Nigeria’s economic nerve centre, were stranded this afternoon as two fallen containers blocked the ever-busy Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The first incident was recorded at 10:50 am on the popular Kara Bridge with the second incident happening at 2 pm on the Long Bridge, both on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, reports Channels TV.

It was observed that hundreds of vehicles were at a standstill as a result of the incidents.

The gridlock, as of the time of filing this report, has reached the popular Otedola Bridge and spilled backward to around the Alapere area.

The spokesperson of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Ogun State Command, Florence Okpe, told our correspondent that officers of the command, alongside officials of sister agencies, have commenced clearance operations.

According to her, no casualty was recorded, adding that first responders are on the ground to maintain traffic laws and ease the situation.
