Nigeria’s movie industry popularly known as Nollywood, has again been thrown into mourning as another top actor, Pope Odonwodo, a.k.a. Junior Pope, has died today.
Jnr Pope was drowned in Anam River in Anambra State, along with three other actors on their way back from a movie location onshore.
The sad news was shared by filmmaker Sam Olatunji, who revealed the cause of the actor’s death, and three others.
Some of his fans have been left in shock as they expressed sadness over the passing away of the 39 years old talented role interpreter.
While on his way to the movie location yesterday on board a speed boat, the popular actor had posted a video of the trip on the river on his Instagram page during which he expressed fears about the speed of the boat.
“Jesus! Please captain take it easy. I have a wife and three children to raise o!” He kept shouting albeit jokingly in the video sighted by The Frontier. It could also be noticed in the video that the actor didn’t wear a life jacket.
The accident reportedly occurred today on their way back from the movie location.
