•Gridlock in Lagos

Motorists along Gbagada-Oworosonki Expressway, Lagos, have been advised to ply alternative route as truck falls, blocks Gbagada Expressway in Lagos following a lone accident this afternoon, occupying almost 90 per cent of the road.

In the video captured by our correspondent, traffic from Oshodi to Gbagada, and Gbagada to Third Mainland Bridge, have been grounded as at the time of writing this report, reports Vanguard.

Fortunately, there was no loss of life in the unfortunate incident.

The accident involved an overturned truck, with split contents on the road.

Motorists and passers-by were seen lamenting the situation which would possibly cause untold hardship to workers returning from office.

Men of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authourity, LASTMA, Nigeria Police and other rescue team were seen trying to remove the impediment to allow easy flow of traffic pending the arrival of crane for total evacuation.

Therefore, motorists were urged to ply Ojota-Ikorodu Road axis to connect to their destinations in order to avoid being caught in the gridlock.
