Kano governor appoints Kwankwaso’s son, 3 others as commissioners

•Gov Yusuf and Kwankwaso

Kano State Governor Abba Kabiru Yusuf has forwarded the name of the son of the leader of the New Nigeria People Party, Mustapha Rabiu Kwankwaso to the State House of Assembly as Commissioners – designate.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Jibril Falgore, who confirmed the receipt of the list of new commissioners- designated during plenary today, indicated that the other three nominees forwarded to the House were Adamu Aliyu Kibiya, Usman Shehu Aliyu and Abduljabbar Garko, reports Daily Sun.

It was not clear if, by this development, the governor would add to the number of the commissioners in the state or was planning to send some commissioners parking in order to absorb the fresh names into the council

However, it could be recalled that only a few months ago, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf had directed the Secretary to the State Government to issue evaluation forms to all the 13 Commissioners in the state.

In the meantime, the appointment of the son of the national leader of the party into the State Executive Council has sparked off a fresh wave of political debate in the state- while some were in favour of the appointment, others were against the appointment.
