•Joshua Rogers

Channels Television reporter, Joshua Rogers,

who was kidnapped from his home in Rumuosi, Obio/Akpor area of Rivers State, has regained his freedom.

He regained his freedom unharmed around 10 p.m. yesterday, less than 24 hours after his abduction on Thursday, reports NAN.

Charles Oporum, his colleague, confirmed the news of his release late last night, stating, “Yes, he has been released about an hour ago, and has reunited with his family.”

The management of Channels Television also affirmed Rogers’ release in a brief statement, expressing gratitude to viewers and all concerned parties for their support during the distressing incident.

Meanwhile, a video surfaced showing Rogers celebrating with his family following his return to safety.

The circumstances surrounding his release remain unclear, whether it was a result of security forces’ intervention or through ransom payment.

Both the Police and the Department of State Services (DSS) had initiated rescue operations upon learning of his abduction.

Rogers holds the position of Government House Correspondent for Channels TV in Port Harcourt.
