•Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), in its enforcement drive against environmental infractions, on Wednesday, sealed off several facilities across the state for noise pollution and other breaches.

The operation was carried out across various locations within the Mainland axis, including Onike ,Yaba, China Town, Ojota, Pedro, Bariga, Magodo, Shomolu, and Ebute Metta, reports The Guardian.

In a statement today, the agency revealed that the enforcement targeted a variety of establishments such as religious institutions, hotels, residential buildings, warehouses, and bakeries.

Among those shut down were CCC Church and CCC Training Seminary, Suit Las Caracas, Forest Guzu Xinlong Zhongnia Horn Co. Ltd., Success Bakery, Occupants of multiple residential apartment, JP Ventures Bakery, and Aliya Bakery.

The General Manager LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the agency’s firm stance against environmental violations, just as he emphasised that noise pollution poses serious risks to public health and community well-being.

“Our enforcement today is a clear message that we are committed to protecting the environment and ensuring a healthier Lagos,” he stated.

Ajayi further called on all organisations and residents to adhere strictly to environmental laws, re-affirming LASEPA’s mission to foster a cleaner and more sustainable city for all.
