Man allegedly dupes friend of N12 million, threatens to kill him

The FrontierThe FrontierDecember 24, 2024 2721 Minutes read0

One Garba Muhammed Dangiya a resident of Badariya area in Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State, who allegedly belong to a syndicate operating in Rivers State, has duped his best friend Alhaji Abu Alheri of N12 million on alleged vessel the culprit claimed was auctioned to him by River State Government.

Alheri and his best friend went to Port Harcourt precisely Bonny waterside where he was shown a vessel by one Samuel whose second name he could not give because he is not educated, reports Daily Independent.

Dangiya and his collaborator, Samuel, showed a vessel in the river to their victim who demanded to enter the vessel but was denied and upon his rejection he was taken to another vessel and gave him assurance that it was the auctioned vessel. They afterwards took him to Bunkasau Hotel still in Bonny where they took N12 million from him for the fake vessel.

While waiting for papers, unknown to him, Garba and Samuel had left their hotel rooms switched off their phones and paid N2 million to assassins to kill him. “When I could not reach them, my spirit told me to leave the hotel immediately. I decided to return to Waterside where I saw someone who can speak English. Luckily enough Samuel’s phone number connected and was told I was the one who want to speak with him. He asked if I was still in the hotel l told him no, unknown to me he was in 6 a.m. vessel already leaving Bonny Waterside with my money,” Alheri said.

He explained that they left him with nothing, adding he had to call home to get transport back to Kebbi. On reaching Kebbi, he discovered that Deengy Synergy Company existed only in Kebbi and not in Rivers State as both of them claimed.

The famous philanthropist who is now crying for justice appealed to authorities concerned to bring Garba to book and to stop further threats to his life from the man.

When contacted for his reaction, Garba declined to comment saying the matter is before the court and therefore won’t say anything on the matter.
