Top music producer Don Jazzy ‘begins’ searching for wife outside Nigeria

•Don Jazzy

Popular Nigerian music producer, Don Jazzy, has sparked reactions online after joking that he may have to search for a wife outside Nigeria, considering Uganda and Tanzania as possible destinations.

The music executive made the remark during a playful interaction with fans on Instagram after a follower described him as an “African treasure” who no longer belongs to Nigerians alone.

The fan wrote, “Don Jazzy at this point is an African treasure. Yes, he belongs to all of us now, not just you Nigerians.”

Responding to the comment, Don Jazzy agreed that he often feels connected to different African countries, including Ghana, South Africa and Uganda.

“You are actually not wrong. Sometimes, I feel like I’m Ghanaian, sometimes South African. Sometimes I feel like I’m Ugandan even though I haven’t been to Uganda, and I hear it’s hot there,” he said.

The Mavin Records boss then shifted the conversation to his love life, joking that his inability to find a wife in Nigeria could push him toward East Africa.

“I heard that the babes there are nice. If you are from Uganda and you are a babe, do you girls like me there? Maybe I should come to Uganda since I did not find a wife in Nigeria. Maybe I should go and find a wife in Uganda or Tanzania,” he added.

The post immediately generated reactions across social media, with fans from Uganda, Tanzania and other African countries flooding his comment section with playful responses.

For years, Don Jazzy’s personal life has remained one of the most discussed topics among fans, especially regarding his decision not to remarry.

In 2021, the 43-year-old revealed publicly that he was once married to Michelle Jackson when he was 20 years old. However, the marriage reportedly lasted only two years.

He later admitted that his intense dedication to music contributed significantly to the collapse of the relationship.
