Man with human body parts nabbed in Abuja

A man has been arrested by operatives of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command for possession of human body parts in the Lugbe area of the nation’s capital, Abuja.

In a statement issued to newsmen in Abuja today, FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, quoted the FCT Commissioner of Police, Bennett Igweh.

He said, “The operatives of the FCT Police Command attached to Iddo Police Division on July 9, 2024, at about 9:00 p.m., acting on credible intelligence, trailed and arrested one Nuhu Ezra ‘m’ of Gosa Kipikipi village, Lugbe, Abuja, with a human skull and bones.

“The suspect, who was found with the body parts, stated upon interrogation that he picked them up from the bush while hunting in Kuje and intended to sell the body parts for six hundred thousand naira (N600,000).

“While the Commissioner of Police, FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, psc, mni, has ordered a thorough investigation to ascertain the origin of the body parts, the intended buyer, whether the suspect killed anyone to obtain the body parts, and how long the suspect has been involved in the alleged business.”
