MASSOB tackles Arewa youths, says opposition to Nnamdi Kanu’s release is inconsequential

•MASSOB

The leadership of the Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra, MASSOB, has dismissed the opposition of Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, AYCF, over the clamour for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from his “unlawful and illegal detention”, describing it as “completely inconsequential and irrelevant”.

MASSOB described the Yerima Shettima led group as being selfish and political on the matter, and accused Yerima of being “a diehard enemy of Southern region’s interest in Nigeria”, reports Vanguard.

A statement signed by the leader of MASSOB, Comrade Uchenna Madu said: “Yerima Shettima’s assertion against Ndigbo and Biafra in general is an expression of frustration and irrelevancy on the people of Arewa and Fulani whose grip of political powers in Nigeria has been fractured by a President who is implementing a different agenda different from theirs.

“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu can never be cowed with the Arewa mentality of promoting the Fulani expansion in Nigeria. We are Biafrans, we shall never allow our pathological haters to frustrate or kill our existence in Nigeria. The release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is long overdue.

“MASSOB congratulates the South East Governors led by Hope Uzodinma and South East Lawmakers led Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe for their eloquent moves and approaches towards the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from detention.

“MASSOB also appreciates other individuals, groups and lovers of justice and freedom for their calls and demand for the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu from detention.

“Mazi Nnamdi Kanu is a pro-Biafra agitator like President Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was once a social activist during the military era.

“MASSOB demands for an intervention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu as he did for Sunday Igboho in Benin Republic prison.

“MASSOB demands an unconditional release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu now”.
