Mbappe already signed contract with Real Madrid — Report

Paris Saint-Germain player, Kylian Mbappe, has reached an agreement, signed two weeks ago, by which, from July 1, the French striker will become a Real Madrid player.

An article published today by Spanish newspaper MARCA revealed that the French striker has already signed a 5-year contract with the Spanish giants that will go into effect on July 1.

The 25-year-old’s move to the Bernabeu has been one of the most drawn-out transfer stories in recent memory. Real Madrid first registered interest in Mbappé in 2017 when he burst onto the scene as a teenager at Monaco.

Mbappe, on February 15, told officials at Paris Saint-Germain that he intends to leave when his contract expires at the end of the season, a source close to the Ligue 1 champions said.

The 25-year-old, who arrived in Paris from Monaco in 2017, had extended his contract in 2022 until 2024 but last summer declined to activate a clause allowing him to stay another year at PSG.

Mbappe has been widely tipped to move to Real Madrid and, according to a source close to the matter, had already entered negotiations with the Spanish giants.

“The terms of the departure have yet to be fully agreed,” the source said, adding that the club and Mbappe will make an official statement “when everything is finalised in the next few months.”

However, MARCA’s publication today noted, “Kylian Mbappe and Real Madrid have an agreement, signed two weeks ago, and as of July 1, the French striker will become a brand new player of the white team, as MARCA has been able to confirm.

“When the player met with PSG last Tuesday to inform them that he would be leaving the club on June 30, he asked him not to be presented with any new renewal offer.

“The reason was that he had already signed his signature on the contract that would tie him to Real Madrid for five seasons, as had been suspected in Paris for some time.

“At that point, PSG was already more interested in its star player fulfilling the commitment agreed in the summer to waive a very significant amount, the third installment of the loyalty bonus, to allow him to rejoin the first team.”

Even though PSG and Real Madrid haven’t made any formal comments regarding the player as of yet, there are still questions regarding the player’s future.
