Munich set sights on Real Madrid attacker

The FrontierThe FrontierJuly 3, 2025 1821 Minutes read0

•Rodrygo

According to a fresh report from Defensa Central, Bayern Munich are considering making a move for Real Madrid forward Rodrygo this summer.

The Brazilian star has fallen out of favour at the ongoing FIFA Club World Cup under new Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso, raising questions about his future at the Santiago Bernabeu, reports AFP.

It is known that Bayern are on the lookout for a new left-winger and have already explored moves for Nico Williams and Luis Diaz.

Eyes on Rodrygo

However, after noticing how little Rodrygo has featured in the Club World Cup, the German champions are now shifting their focus to the 24-year-old.

They see Rodrygo as the most exciting option to join Harry Kane and Michael Olise in their attack, creating a dynamic front three capable of challenging for trophies at home and in Europe.

The relationship between Bayern and Real Madrid president Florentino Perez, along with Xabi Alonso’s connections in Germany, could help smooth negotiations if Bayern decide to push ahead.

PSG also keen

At the same time, Paris Saint-Germain have entered the race for Rodrygo’s signature. The French champions are looking to strengthen their squad even further after lifting the UEFA Champions League last season.

PSG manager Luis Enrique has told the club’s board that Rodrygo should be one of their top priorities in the transfer market, seeing him as the perfect addition to keep their momentum going.

It is to be noted that Rodrygo is under contract with Real Madrid until 2028, making him one of the most valuable young attackers on the market.

His situation means any interested club will likely have to pay a significant fee to convince Real Madrid to sell. But with both Bayern Munich and PSG circling, a bidding war could be on the cards this summer.
