Natasha clinches PDP ticket, strengthens grip on Kogi Central ahead of 2027

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has emerged as the Peoples Democratic Party’s senatorial candidate for Kogi Central, further consolidating her political influence in the district ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The PDP affirmation process, which took place across the 57 wards in Kogi Central, reportedly witnessed active participation from party delegates, stakeholders and supporters, while officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission monitored the exercise.

Natasha’s emergence comes amid renewed political calculations in Kogi State, where major parties have begun positioning ahead of the next electoral cycle. Political observers say her growing grassroots appeal and vocal presence in the Senate have continued to strengthen her standing within the PDP and among voters in the district.

Addressing party faithful after the exercise, the senator expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in her leadership, describing the outcome as a call to deepen representation, empowerment and development across Kogi Central.

She also pledged to sustain projects and legislative interventions targeted at youth development, women inclusion, infrastructure and education, insisting that the district deserves “purpose-driven representation.”

The development is expected to intensify political activities in Kogi Central, with opposition parties likely to strategise around her growing popularity and influence in the state’s political landscape.

Natasha, who made history as the first female senator from Kogi State, has remained one of the prominent opposition voices in the National Assembly, often drawing national attention over governance, accountability and constituency-related issues.
