Nigerian Army holds route march to deepen unity among security agencies

The FrontierThe FrontierNovember 1, 2025 1441 Minutes read0

In furtherance of efforts to foster interagency cooperation and enhance operational readiness among security agencies in Taraba State, 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) yesterday, Friday, October 31, 2025, conducted a Joint Route March for its own personnel and other security agencies within Jalingo metropolis.

The exercise witnessed the active participation of personnel from the Nigeria Police Force, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Nigeria Immigration Service, Taraba Marshal, and the Nigerian Red Cross Society, reports Channels TV.

The route march was aimed at promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and mutual understanding among the various security formations operating within the state.

Speaking shortly before the commencement of the march, the Commander 6 Brigade Nigerian Army/Sector 3 OPWS, Brigadier General Kingsley Chidiebere Uwa, noted that the event was one of the several training activities regularly organised by the Nigerian Army to ensure the physical and mental alertness of officers and soldiers.

According to him, “Today’s route march is not just about fitness. It is a demonstration of our strength, unity, and readiness to defend our nation at all times. It reminds us that discipline, teamwork, and endurance remain the hallmarks of our profession. As we step off, let us march with pride, purpose, and mutual respect, showing the people of Taraba and Nigeria that the security forces remain united, alert, and mission-ready.”

The exercise also served as a platform to reinforce esprit de corps among participating agencies and underscore the collective commitment to sustaining peace and security in Taraba State and Nigeria at large.

The route march, which covered major streets in Jalingo, attracted the attention and commendation of residents who applauded the display of unity and coordination among the security personnel.

Brigadier General Kingsley Uwa says that the exercise will be held monthly except when extigencies of duties come calling.
