Nigerian contestant, Godwin Awaji-Iroso Abiodun, has won the Best Physique award at the preliminary competition of Mister Cosmopolitan 2025 held at MBK Centre, Bangkok.

Godwin, who recently emerged winner at Misters of Nigeria 2025 now representing the country on the global stage, took to Facebook to celebrate this achievement yesterday, saying, ”Best physique Cosmopolitan 2025 all the way from PH to Thailand.”

It was gathered that a Filipino won Best National Costume, while a Thai took Best Talent award, with Godwin clinching the award for the swim wear at the prelims, reports Saturday PUNCH.

The creative designer and Mr Rivers State University 2023/2024 at the competition wore Nigeria’s national costume, “Omu Alabo – The Warlord,” inspired by King Agbanijike of Bille Kingdom in Rivers State.

The outfit represents the heritage, strength and warrior spirit of the Niger Delta people.

18 candidates from around the world competed in the preliminary show, hoping to secure a spot among the semifinalists in the grand finale.

The contestants of this international pageantry had received their sashes three days ago at a welcome ceremony at Divalux Resort & Spa in Bangkok, organised by the pageant’s founding committee, headed by Faiz Noh.

As of yesterday, the top five candidates in fan voting were, Shawn Lin Yu Hsiang – Taiwan (21.42%), Khandy Noprian – Indonesia (19.20%), Harsh D Peiris – Sri Lanka (17.51%), Hanyoung Kim – Korea (11.56%), and Sandile Christo Gama – South Africa (9.96%).
