National Chairman of the Nigeria Patriotic Front Movement (NPFM), Comrade Abdulmajid Yakubu, has declared October 1, 2024 as “Protest Day for National Survival”, reports Nigerian Tribune.

This was contained in a statement signed by NPFM, chairman, Comrade Yakubu, on behalf of the organisers, and a copy made available yesterday to the press in Kano.

According to him, “This move is a response to the growing economic pains being influenced on the people by the Tinubu regime.”

He however stated that, “The nationwide protest will be peaceful and will last for a day, making it a warning for the government to speedily address the cost of living crisis before all hell breaks loose in the country.”

He added that, “This is time for statesmanship and not brinkmanship”.

He continued, “Our demands are nationally coordinated. You’ll hear the same message from our comrades across the nation.

Comrade Yakubu hinted that, “This is a National Survival issue. We call on President Tinubu to think of Nigeria first. That’s the way statesmen behave. They commune with their people to understand the problem and come up with shared solutions.

“The leader eats last, not first and alone, as is the case with most of ours,” he said.
