•Tinubu and EFCC headquarters, Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has directed the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to channel all looted funds that have been recovered to the account of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund(NELFund) to make the agency financially solvent.

The directive came today, while the President was chairing the Federal Executive Council meeting at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, reports Daily Independent.

FEC also approved that unclaimed dividends with the Securities and Exchange Commission(SEC) be channelled to NELFund to enable the agency meet its financial obligations.

The Minister of Education, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alusa who revealed this to State House Reporters, confirmed that a total of N118billion was also approved to fund the completion of the National Library headquarters.

The president directed the Ministers of Education and that of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy to work hand in hand to disburse only funds that have been cleared of legal encumbrances.
