A yet to be identified female adult, narrowly escaped death following chemical explosion which resulted in inferno at 291 Old-Abeokuta Motor Road, opposite Vetland Secondary School, Agege, Lagos.

The victim was immediately rescued by men of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service and other emergency responders, reports Saturday Vanguard.

According to reports, the incident happened at about 6.pm yesterday.

The Agege Fire and Rescue crew of the agency quickly brought the situation under control after dousing the fire from the explosion of sets of varying kegs sizes containing unknown chemical stored in an open fenced-gated land.

Director, Lagos Fire Service, Mrs Margaret Adeseye, said initial investigation revealed the fire followed the explosion of the chemical which were kept unprotected from sunlight.
