Operation to resume soon on Warri–Itakpe train service, says NRC

The FrontierThe FrontierAugust 22, 2025 2050 Minutes read0

The Management of the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has informed its esteemed passengers and the general public that train operations on the Warri–Itakpe corridor will soon resume.

Operations had been temporarily suspended on the train service to enable the NRC to carry out urgent and critical track repairs aimed at guaranteeing the safety, reliability, and comfort of passengers, reports The Guardian.

In a statement, Chief Public Relations Officer, Callistus Unyimadu, said the corporation is pleased to announce that work on the affected sections has reached an advanced stage, and normal train movement will resume in the shortest possible time.

He said NRC deeply appreciates the patience, understanding, and cooperation of passengers during this period of service interruption.

“We remain committed to providing safe, efficient, and reliable rail transport services across the country. A subsequent announcement will be communicated on the official date for the resumption of full operations,” he said.
