Osimhen in Nigeria to decide next club amid Al Hilal interest

Victor Osimhen will be arriving in Nigeria today to decide his next club amid strong interest from Al Hilal of Saudi Arabia.

Al Hilal is keen to sign Osimhen before the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup kicks off on June 15, according to Italian transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, in an update on the striker’s transfer yesterday.

“Victor Osimhen arrives in Nigeria today from Istanbul as he will inform clubs on his decision soon,” Romano wrote on his official X account.

“Al Hilal are prepared to seal the deal with medical tests booked to bring him to the FIFA Club World Cup, waiting for his final decision by tomorrow.”

Romano on Thursday said Al Hilal had made an official bid of €70 million to Napoli for the services of the Super Eagles striker.

“Al Hilal has submitted an official bid to Napoli for Victor Osimhen as top target.

The proposal is worth €65m fixed fee plus €5m add-ons, the decision is up to Napoli now,” Romano wrote.

This followed the story that emerged on Wednesday that Al Hilal was in contact with Osimhen over salary and personal terms.

Romano had said on Wednesday that Osimhen remained high on Al Hilal’s list as new striker with talks ongoing to bring in the Nigerian forward.

He added that with a €75m release clause available, Al Hilal were working on the player’s side after his signing had been approved by the club’s new manager, Simone Inzaghi.

The report also stated that Al Hilal was ready to offer the Super Eagles striker €30m salary per year and according to Sky Sports on Saturday, “Victor Osimhen has accepted Al-Hilal contract offer.”

Osimhen joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last summer and the Super Eagles striker went ahead to have a truly remarkable campaign with the Turkish club.

The 26-year-old scored 37 goals and contributed eight assists in 41 games across all competitions for Galatasaray, leading to club to win the Turkish Super Lig title and the Turkish Cup.
