Nigeria ended the 2026 Grammy Awards without a win despite multiple nominations across major categories.

Top Nigerian artistes including Burna Boy, Davido, Omah Lay, Ayra Starr, and Wizkid, were all nominated but failed to secure an award at the ceremony, reports Guardian Life.

The outcome left Nigeria without a Grammy trophy for the year despite its strong showing in African and global music categories.

In the Best African Music Performance category, South African singer Tyla won with her song Push 2 Start.

She beat other nominees, including Burna Boy’s Love, With You by Davido and Omah Lay, and Gimme Dat by Ayra Starr and Wizkid.

This is Tyla’s second victory in the category since its introduction in 2024, when she won with Water as the first-ever recipient.

In the Best Global Music Album category, the award went to Brazilian icons Caetano Veloso and Maria Bethânia for Caetano e Bethânia Ao Vivo, while Burna Boy’s No Sign of Weakness missed out.

The 2026 Grammy Awards were held in Los Angeles, United States, and organised by the Recording Academy.
