Palm Sunday: Don’t be part-time Christian, says Catholic priest

•Palm Sunday celebrations

As Christians all over the world celebrated the triumphant entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem yesterday, Rev. Fr. Andrew Mozia, has challenged Christians not to serve God on part time bases.

The priest made the call during the celebration of Holy Mass yesterday at the Catholic Mass Centre, Maris Schools, Amachai, Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.

Fr. Mozia delivered a stirring Homily, calling on the Christian faithful to deepen their commitment to Christ as the Church enters the solemnity of Holy Week, reports Daily Independent.

In a message centered on accountability and radical devotion, Fr. Mozia cautioned that spiritual complacency is a form of desertion.

He reminded the congregation that the actions of a believer have eternal weight, stating, “each time you forget to proclaim Jesus as your Lord, you are a betrayal of Jesus, each time you sin, you are nailing Jesus on the cross.

“Jesus needs us, let us carry Jesus to any where we go, we should not be part time Christians.

“We should be for Jesus in words and in actions, we should not choose where we should stay and proclaim Jesus; let us make all the sacrifice we can make for Jesus this Holy Week.

“Abstain from anything that is not godly, do what you are supposed to do so that the victory of Jesus at Easter will be our victory.”
