The FrontierThe FrontierOctober 23, 2024 3780 Minutes read0

•National Assembly Complex, Abuja

Some members of the House of Representatives and their Legislative Aides abruptly shut down their offices located in the White House part of the National Assembly complex today, following a fire outbreak which occurred around 3:50 pm.

Our correspondent who visited the scene of the inferno, confirmed that the fire outbreak occurred in Room 352 Electrical Panel room (ELV Room) located on the Third Floor of the New Building, reports Nigerian Tribune.

Amidst pandemonium that broke out, officers of the Fire Service located within the complex, deployed their expertise to gain access to the room which is usually locked by the Electrical Department.

In the bid to curtail the inferno, the electrical connection across the New Building were shutdown including the lifts.

Following the unrest caused by the inferno, banks and other business entities located in the New Building abruptly shutdown operations.

As at the time of filing this report, the Fire Service personnel were on the lookout for the Electrician on duty, in the bid to ensure that all the electrical connections were put under control.
