The FrontierThe FrontierOctober 12, 2024 3721 Minutes read0

After weeks of massive nationwide publicity across television, social media, radio and billboards, Wale Adenuga Productions, WAP, has finally announced that the highly-anticipated Papa Ajasco & Company Gen Z Papi TV comedy will hit the airwaves from Tuesday, October 15.

This new version of the multiple-award-winning sitcom is about the titular character, Papa Ajasco a.k.a Gen Z Papi, as he rises to super-stardom as a successful Afrobeats musician while engaging in rivalry with another musician, Emperor Agu. It features the much-loved main characters, Papa Ajasco, Pa James, Mama Ajasco, Boy Alinco, and Miss Pepeye as well as several hilarious new supporting characters played by Jude Chukwukae Ayinke Ola (Iyalegba), Jide Kosoko, Shirley Igwe, Oluchi Amajuoyi among others.

Speaking on the rebranded comedy TV series, Wale Adenuga Jnr., producer of Papa Ajasco & Company Gen Z Papi, said that since Papa Ajasco & Company TV series started airing across the country in 1997, the sitcom has amassed a very large viewership spanning several generations.

“As the longest-running TV comedy in Nigeria, we have remained popular by always keeping our storylines and production styles fresh and relevant to our viewers of different ages, especially the youth who are the majority of our viewership,” Adenuga Jnr said. Meanwhile, from Tuesday, October 15, 2024, episodes of Papa Ajasco & Company Gen Z Papi will air weekly to viewers across Nigeria and several parts of Africa on NTA Network, STV Network, and wapTV, via DStv, StarTimes, GOtv, FreeTV as well as on YouTube: “waptvchannel”.
