The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Edo State has declared three days of mourning for its late pioneer chairman, Chief Solomon Aguele, with effect from today, Thursday, August 21, 2025.

Caretaker Committee Chairman, Hon Tony Aziegbemi, in a statement issued in Benin City, said all political activities and engagements of the party have been suspended across the state.

The statement said a condolence register has been opened at the Party Secretariat in Benin City for members, leaders, and the public to pay their respects, reports The Nation.

According to him, “The Edo PDP family remains united in honouring the legacy of Chief Solomon Aguele, whose leadership and contributions to the growth of our party will never be forgotten.”
