•Policemen

The Anambra State Police Command yesterday, Wednesday, August 20, 2025, arraigned four suspects over separate cases of child defilement before the Children, Sexual and Gender-Based Violence Court sitting in Awka.

Following their arraignment, the accused persons were ordered to be remanded at the Correctional Centre pending further court proceedings, reports Daily Independent.

Reiterating the Command’s zero tolerance for crimes against children and vulnerable persons, the Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, assured the public that justice will take its full course. He further warned that perpetrators of such heinous acts will face the full wrath of the law.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the development in a statement issued today, Thursday, August 21, 2025.
