A public affairs analyst, Majeed Dahiru, has criticised the Tinubu-led federal government over the removal of petrol subsidy, arguing that there is nowhere in the developed world where energy is not subsidised.
Speaking on Channels Television last night , Dahiru said that energy is as important to any economy as air is to any living thing.
He emphasised that energy is so important that there is a global consensus to keep the price as low as possible through government intervention which is subsidy globally.
He blamed the consistent increase in inflation rate since last year on the removal of petrol subsidy by the President Bola Tinubu administration.
Dahiru alongside another guest on the programme, Seun Oworu, an energy expert, also discussed the roll out of petrol by the Dangote Refinery and its impact on the Nigerian petroleum sector.
