A popular socialite and owner of a hotel in Akure, the Ondo State capital, Adesoji Adeleye, has been murdered by assassins at his hotel.

It was gathered that Adeleye was in one of the rooms in his hotel yesterday morning when the incident happened, reports Channels TV.

According to a source, the armed men were said to have found their way into the hotel premises and met Adeleye who was awake and ready for the day’s work.

The murderers were said to have overpowered the hotel owner and stabbed him severally before he died, leaving him in the pool of his blood.

A spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Olusola Ayanlade, confirmed the incident to our correspondent in a telephone chat.

He disclosed that a team of police detectives from the command has been drafted to the scene; adding that the police are working on apprehending the murderers.
