Railway Corporation adjusts Abuja–Kaduna train schedule for FCT Council elections

The FrontierThe FrontierFebruary 19, 2026 610 Minutes read0

The Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC) has announced a temporary adjustment to its Abuja–Kaduna train service schedule ahead of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council elections.

In a statement issued in Abuja this morning, the corporation said the outbound train from Abuja to Kaduna on Saturday, February 21, 2026, will now depart at 7:30 a.m., instead of its regular time.

According to the NRC, the adjustment is necessary due to the anticipated restriction of movement during the elections in the FCT.

The corporation clarified that the inbound service from Kaduna to Abuja will operate as scheduled, departing at 2:30 p.m.

Passengers have been advised to arrive at the station early, ahead of the commencement of movement restrictions.

The NRC added that normal train services will resume on Sunday and expressed regret over any inconvenience the temporary change may cause to passengers.
