Resign, handover to your deputy – Action Alliance tells Gov Akeredolu

Ondo State chapter of the Action Alliance (AA) has called on the state Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu to resign from office and handover to his deputy, Hon Lucky Aiyedatiwa due to his inability to function in office as a result of ill health.

This, the party said is in line with the constitution as it is crystal clear that Governor Akeredolu can no longer function in office, reports Daily Sun.

Rising from a crucial meeting held at the party’s state secretariat in Akure, the state capital and attended by key leaders of the party in the state, the Action Alliance said the only honorable decision for Governor Akeredolu to talk is to hand over to Aiyedatiwa.

The meeting which was presided over by the state chairman of the party, comrade Abdullahi Olowookere also had in attendance the South West National Vice Chairman of the party, Hon Joshua Adewole, National Auditor of the party, Prince Ademola Adekanbi and a leader of the party, Mrs Rose Osaipene among others.

While praying for the quick recovery of Governor Akeredolu, the party noted that there’s no individual above sickness, hence the need for the Governor to see his current condition as temporary.

In a communique issued at the end of the meeting and signed by the state chairman of the party, Comrade Olowookere, the party advised Akeredolu to toe the part of honour by handing over power to Aiyedatiwa in line with the provisions of the constitution.

The party enjoined Akeredolu to ensure that peace reigns in Ondo State by following due process and allow the constitution to take its course in the affairs of the state.

The party however prayed to God to grant the ailing governor quick recovery.
