REVEALED: Real reason I remain single despite having many suitors – BBNaija star Mercy Eke

•Mercy Eke

Reality TV star and winner of the Big Brother Naija season 4, Mercy Eke, has explained why she remains single.

Speaking on a recent podcast, Eke said she has not yet found the kind of man she wants.

According to her, “What I want in a man, I have not seen.”

She said she has many suitors and could get married at any time if she chose to.

During the conversation, she also discussed why and how she views motherhood, noting that she does not mind having children before marriage.

Eke noted that if she became pregnant unexpectedly, she would keep the baby, even though she is not trying to make that happen.

“I won’t go the extra mile to get pregnant out of wedlock. But if it just happens, I would leave it and I would have my baby,” she added.

Explaining why she believes pregnancy out of wedlock would not affect her, she said the stigma usually targets women who are not financially stable.

“Even if I don’t get married, I would still have kids… What most people don’t know is that the stigma of being a single mother only applies to women who don’t have things going well for them.”

Eke also shared what she wants in the future regarding family, explaining that she hopes to have three children — two girls and one boy, or three girls because she loves female children.

She added that many successful single mothers still receive marriage proposals.

“The women [single mothers] that are shattering glasses, men are begging them for marriage. I can get married tomorrow if I want to… So, even if I have a baby, I would still see a man.”
