Rivers Police Command gets new spokesperson

The Rivers State Police Command has announced the appointment of ASP Blessing Kaborlo Agabe as its new acting Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO).

The appointment, approved by the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Rilwan Disu, was disclosed in a statement issued on Friday by the outgoing PPRO, CSP Grace Iringe-Koko.

ASP Kaborlo Agabe, an indigene of Ogoni in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, was commissioned into the Nigeria Police Force as an Assistant Superintendent of Police in 2023 after completing a five-year training programme at the Nigeria Police Academy, where she obtained a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B). She also holds a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from Rivers State University.

According to CSP Iringe-Koko, the new spokesperson in the course of her training and career has attended several specialised courses, including combat operations and counter-terrorism at the Police Mobile Force Training School, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State, and a citizenship and leadership programme at Shere Hills, Jos.

ASP Agabe has equally served in various capacities within the Force, including at the Divisional Police Station, Okporo; the Human Rights Section (DFA); and as Second-in-Command of the Police Public Relations Office, Rivers State Command, a position she held until her latest appointment.

“In the course of her training and career, she has attended several specialised professional courses, including: Combat Operations and Counter-Terrorism Course at the Police Mobile Force Training School, Ende Hills, Nasarawa State; Citizenship and Leadership Training Course at Shere Hills, Jos.

“ASP Agabe Blessing Kaborlo has served the Nigeria Police Force in various capacities with commendable professionalism, discipline, and dedication. Her previous postings include: Divisional Police Station, Okporo; Human Rights Section (DFA); Second-in-Command, Police Public Relations Office (PPRO), Rivers State Command.

“Until her recent appointment, she served as the Second-in-Command in the Police Public Relations Office, Rivers State Command.

“The Rivers State Police Command assures the public of continued transparency, effective communication, and strengthened police-community relations under the leadership of the new PPRO.”

The Command expressed confidence in ASP Agabe’s competence, assuring the public of sustained transparency, effective communication, and strengthened police-community relations under her leadership.
