•Ronaldo and Asake

Popular Portuguese footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, posted a video on his Instagram page today with Asake’s latest song ‘Active’ from his latest album ‘Lungu Boy’ playing in the background.

The post by the five-time Ballon d’Or winner which went viral in less than four hours, has gathered 18.7 million views, 1.2 million likes and over 20,000 comments, reports Channels TV.

This is the second time the footballer has shown interest in Afrobeats songs after he took to his social media to post an adorable video of his three kids dancing to ‘Calm Down’ song by Nigerian music star Rema in March 2023.

Ronaldo is currently the most followed person on Instagram in the world with 639 million followers.

In the video, the 39-year old used the viral Asake song to promote his new YouTube content which already made over 313 thousand views and over 90k likes in 3 hours of posting on his YouTube channel.

Ronaldo’s YouTube channel, which provides insight into his personal and family life as well as interviews with renowned personalities, continues to rise since he posted his first video on August 21.

He also made history when his account reached one million subscribers in just 90 minutes, the fastest channel to ever achieve this feat. The footballer also smashed the record for hitting the 10 million subscriber mark in less than 24 hours.

He now has over 62 million subscribers on Youtube after just over 2 months of joining the channel.
