•Super Eagles set to jet off to Abidjan in an African attire

Super Eagles of Nigeria have departed Lagos for Abidjan this morning, ahead of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.

To reflect the national colours, officials and players donned traditional white kaftans with green caps, reports Vanguard.

The contingent arrived in Lagos from Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, yesterday.

Jose Peseiro’s side spent one week in Abu Dhabi in preparation for the AFCON.

Last night, they were hosted to a farewell dinner by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

The three-time African champions will be based at the Pullman Hotel in Abidjan.

Nigeria is drawn in Group A with hosts Ivory Coast, Equatorial Guinea and Guinea Bissau.

The Super Eagles first game is against Nzalang Nacional of Equatorial Guinea at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, on Sunday.
