Timaya’s relationship with Black American TV star Brooke Bailey hots up

•Timaya and his Black American heartthrob, Brooke Bailey

Nigerian music sensation, Inetimi Odon, popularly known as Timaya, has recently captured headlines with his blossoming relationship with American reality TV star, Brooke Bailey, renowned for her appearance on ‘Basketball Wives’.

The couple has been the subject of speculation following the emergence of various videos showcasing their affectionate moments on social media, prompting mixed reactions from fans, reports Saturday PUNCH.

During Timaya’s homecoming concert on January 1, 2025, Bailey was present to show support. Viral clips from the event highlighted an intimate moment where Bailey was seen giving Timaya a shoulder massage just before he took to the stage. The support didn’t end there; she later joined him on stage, dancing and cheering him on.

After the concert, Bailey expressed her pride in Timaya through an Instagram post, stating, “So proud of you, my love! Watching you pour your heart and soul into giving back to your village with the third annual Timaya Day was nothing short of inspiring.”

•The two lovebirds in native attires

Recently, the duo further fuelled public interest when they were spotted donning matching native Nigerian attire. Bailey was dressed in a vibrant green attire which she matched with gold gele (head tie), while Timaya complemented her look in a striking brown and orange outfit. Their undeniable chemistry in the stunning photos led some netizens to mistake the images for a pre-wedding shoot.

Timaya’s relationship with Bailey has not come as a surprise to many fans, especially after he openly stated in a previous interview that he finds it challenging to date Nigerian women.

He explained, “I can’t date a Nigerian lady because we have the same foundation; the same upbringing. The relationship would be like police and thief. It would be too toxic. We would lie to each other too much and wouldn’t even have peace.”

Garrette stated, “When the athlethes dry up, they run right to Africa.

A fan, Mobimoney reacted stating, “You run from Nigerian girls go date black American girl? From frying pan to fire.”

Chisom Anosike also wrote, “Timaya have won you (Bailey) over. I am so happy for you both.”

Another fan, Eagle wings asked, “Is Timaya getting married for real?’’
