President Bola Tinubu is currently meeting with leaders of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF) at the Council Chamber of the State House, Abuja.

The meeting, which began at 4:15 p.m. with the arrival of the president, is expected to address key issues affecting the oil-rich Niger Delta region, reports Nigerian Tribune.

PANDEF, founded by the late elder statesman Chief Edwin Clark, serves as the voice of traditional rulers, leaders, and stakeholders from the Niger Delta.

As the meeting commenced, President Tinubu called for a minute of silence in honor of Chief Clark, who passed away in February.

The PANDEF delegation includes prominent figures such as King Alfred Diete-Spiff, Chairman of the Board of Trustees; Obong Victor Attah, Co-Chairman; Ambassador Godknows Igali, National Chairman; and former governors, Senator Seriake Dickson, Mr. Liyel Imoke, and Tele Ikuru.

Also in attendance are Professor Mike Ozekhome, former NDDC Managing Director, Timi Alaibe, and key traditional rulers, including the Jaja of Opobo, Professor Dandeson Jaja.

Other notable attendees include Senator Ita Enang, Senator Bassey Henshaw, former acting NDDC Managing Director Ibim Semenitari, former PDP Chairman Uche Secondus, Niger Delta activist Ann-Kio Briggs, and PANDEF spokesperson Chief Obiwevbi Ominimini.

Representing the federal government are Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development Festus Keyamo, Minister of State for Petroleum (Oil) Senator Heineken Lokpobiri, Special Adviser on Information and Strategy Bayo Onanuga, and Special Adviser on Media and Public Communications Sunday Dare, along with other presidential aides.
